she's a 3 year old boston terrier with pit mix who swallowed a small rubber ball 8 days ago. He appetite has not changed, she's still playful and poops daily. I have financial issues. will she just be put to sleep if she cannot have surgery, if ever the doctor says it's what she will need? my concern is she throws up daily, around 3-4 times a day since she swallowed the ball. she would wake up in the middle of the night and throw up. I have monitored her when she poops and throws up but have not seen the ball pass either way. I know she swallowed the whole ball because i tried to get it from her mouth but failed. Do vets have payment plans. I really love this dog but I'm broke.
Surrender her to your local NO KILL Doggie shelter.
If she is okay so far, you might get lucky and she will pass it...or already has. If it has been 8 days, are you sure she swallowed it? Did she tear it up first? I think you would definitely have seen a whole ball in her poop by now. Anyway, by now you can be pretty sure she is going to be okay.
If you're going to have a pet, you need to be able to care for it no matter what. The dog relies on you to take care of her. If you can't afford proper care, maybe you should think of giving her up to a shelter or something. If you still insist on keeping the dog, have you discussed with your vet about setting up a payment plan for the surgery? If the need for the surgery is life or death, a responsible owner would get the surgery. You would still be required to pay for the vet to put your dog down if you went that route. Have you ever heard of Care Credit? It's a credit card that is limited to use at medical centers including your doctor, dentist, and vets. It has a decent interest rate and has a good payback program. If you still insist on keeping your pet then I recommend looking into getting a Care Credit card to help you pay for your pet's surgery.
